Knut Eirik Dahl
Knut Eirik Dahl is a Partner of SHP.
Before joining SHP in July 2009, he was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, where he led the team responsible for corporate finance transactions in the Asset Management sector. He moved to J.P. Morgan from Bear Stearns International, having served there as Senior Managing Director and Head of the Specialty Finance Group in the Investment Banking Department.
Prior to Bear Stearns, Knut worked at Putnam Lovell, an M&A boutique focused on the investment management industry and before that he spent 12 years at Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs where he spearheaded a large number of M&A and capital markets transactions, with a focus on the financial institutions sector.
Altogether, Knut has spent 18 years in investment banking and worked with a large number of leading financial institutions, both in Europe and the USA, including ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank, FRM, Brevan Howard, Julius Baer, Lloyds TSB, MAN Group, Principal Global, as well as a number of prominent Scandinavian financial institutions. He has also worked extensively with private equity firms including APAX, Apollo, Candover, Clayton Dubilier, JC Flowers and KKR.
Knut Dahl is a non-executive director of a number of companies. He has also served as an advisor to several start-up companies, advising on their structuring, as well as on their further development and eventual sale. Currently, he is a member of the Advisory Board of Cognitive Match Limited, a recently launched company pioneering AI software, which he advised during the recent funding negotiations.
Knut Dahl has a B.S. in Business Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington, with distinction of a double major in Decision Sciences and Finance. Before starting his studies in the USA, he served in the Royal Norwegian Army.
