Lord (Jacob) Rothschild

Lord Rothschild has been an active investor in alternative asset managers for over 30 years, and was a founder investor in some of the most successful financial and asset management businesses created in recent years, including GAM, RIT Capital Partners and St. James's Place Capital.

Lord Rothschild is Chairman of RIT Capital Partners, an investment trust listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Prior to developing RIT (a forerunner to RIT Capital Partners), Lord Rothschild was Chairman of the Executive Committee and responsible for corporate finance at NM Rothschild & Sons, which he left in 1980.

In addition to his career in finance, Lord Rothschild has been involved in public service, including the arts and heritage, and philanthropy. He served as Chairman of the National Heritage Memorial Fund, and as first Chairman of the Heritage Lottery Fund. He is also Chairman of the Rothschild Foundation. Lord Rothschild was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery from 1985 through 1991.

Lord Rothschild was a founder partner of SHP and is now Chairman of its Advisory Board.
